The dedicated photography hub will open in Winter 2027 to support the street photography community.
Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation has announced the opening of its first North American GR Space in New York City. Scheduled for Winter 2027, the location joins existing international hubs in Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Brisbane, and Seoul. President Ken Curry identifies the venue as a site for snapshooters and professionals to experience products, exchange ideas, and observe the spontaneity of everyday life. The announcement follows the recent release of the GR IV, GR IV HDF, and GR IV Monochrome, alongside the development of the GR IVx. While the specific address and exhibition schedule remain undisclosed, the space will host seminars and gallery events. This expansion coincides with the 30th anniversary of the GR Series. Ricoh aims for the center to serve as a cultural meeting point for photographers to learn and find inspiration within the street photography movement.
Working photographers gain a physical infrastructure for professional networking, technical education, and gallery exposure in a major creative market. The space provides direct access to the latest specialized tools like the GR IV Monochrome for practitioners focused on specific aesthetic niches.
