Serpentine Galleries outlines major free exhibitions featuring site-responsive works and public art in Kensington Gardens.
Serpentine Galleries has revealed major programming details for upcoming exhibitions, highlighted by Justin Caguiat’s first UK institutional exhibition alongside a major public art presentation by Jesús Rafael Soto.
Justin Caguiat is scheduled to present his inaugural institutional exhibition in the United Kingdom from 8 October 2026 through 10 January 2027. Offered with free admission, the presentation is structured as a site-responsive installation. The exhibition invites visitors to explore a comprehensive range of artistic disciplines, bringing together painting, sculpture, printmaking, sound, and film within the gallery space. The presentation represents a key milestone for Caguiat, marking his first institutional solo exhibition within the UK.
In addition to Caguiat’s multidisciplinary installation, Serpentine's schedule highlights a prominent free public art display titled "Pénétrable BBL Jaune" by artist Jesús Rafael Soto. Running from 16 June to 25 October 2026, the public artwork will be presented at Serpentine South Gallery and situated in Kensington Gardens. Like Caguiat’s upcoming exhibition, the Soto presentation will be accessible to the public completely free of charge, integrating large-scale public art directly into the park grounds.
Combined, the announced exhibitions provide public access to diverse creative practices in London. Ranging from Soto’s outdoor presentation of "Pénétrable BBL Jaune" across the summer and autumn seasons to Caguiat’s site-responsive exploration of sound, printmaking, film, painting, and sculpture through early 2027, the Serpentine continues its schedule of free public art and institutional showcases.
The programming provides the UK creative community and the public with free access to Justin Caguiat's first UK institutional exhibition across diverse mediums, alongside significant public art in Kensington Gardens.
