A new collaboration focuses on joint investment and talent training for visual effects.
New Zealand visual effects house Weta FX is partnering with the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) to establish Taiwan as a regional center for AI-driven screen production. The collaboration officially launches on November 6 at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) in Taipei, following the opening ceremony on the main stage. The initiative focuses on three specific pillars: joint investment, AI research and development, and training new talent. Weta FX, known for work on Avatar and The Lord of the Rings, aims to leverage this partnership to expand production capabilities in Asia. The project seeks to integrate advanced artificial intelligence technologies into the existing screen industry infrastructure. By focusing on R&D and specialized training, the partnership intends to build a sustainable pipeline for technical film production and digital content creation within the region.
Visual effects professionals gain access to new AI research and development resources through this regional production hub. The initiative creates structured training and investment opportunities for creatives working at the intersection of technology and cinema.
